Day 1: All Together Again

Our first full day together didn't disappoint.  I woke up and took a nice walk around the grounds of the Polynesian.  Such a great location as I could hear the steam whistle from the Magic Kingdom.  Once everyone was up (minus Jordan and Ryan) we headed to the Magic Kingdom. Got our tickets and magic bands and we off and enjoying the park!  Weather was P E R F E C T.  Our first stop was Jungle Cruise where Jack jumped up into Steve's lap.  The corny jokes always seem to be good and this boat ride was no different.  While heading over....Joe was the first to grab a Dole Whip....except we had them on Friday!!

After battling on the seas and a visit with Jack Sparrow we boarded our logs for a ride down Splash Mountain.  It was the first time we had our own 'log car'!   Due to a mess up with the Disney App Jen scored us a bunch of free Fast Passes for any time, any ride!!!!  We put them to good use on Big Thunder and Space Mountain!!

We all grabbed a lunch at Pinnochio's in Fantasyland and then made our way onto Ariel's Underwater Adventure.  This was one of the new additions to Fanstasyland.  Quite impressive.  The Seven Dwarves Mine Ride was being tested with Cast Members only. :-(

We split up as Steve and Michelle took the kids, Joe and Doro and Joe-Joe back to the hotel.  Jen and I took our group back to the hotel, charged up and headed right back out to Disney Studios where we were rushing to get to dinner at Momma Mel Rose.  A nice Italian themed restaurant.  Everyone was a little grumpy.  Tired and hungry are never a good mix.  Once we ate, laughed and got some sugars in us we were ready for more.

It is Star Wars weekends but didn't get to take too much in yet.  We did use our Fast Passes (Jen got us an additional bunch again!!!) and got on Toy Story.....AWESOME!!!  Joe Joe and I racked up a number of points.  WHile the kids whirled and laughed we enjoyed all hanging out.

Tower of Terror.  Always makes me nervous.  This year Jack, Kayla, and Matty hopped on.  Not really knowing what to expect we boarded with nervous anticipation.  After going up and down, up and down, and up and down....Kayla said, "it tickled her tummy, it was fun, is it over."

The night was far from over as we had perfect seating for a show we hadn't seen in over 10 years....>FANTASMIC.  And it was impressive.  With Jake's whirling lights and Jillian's Malificent horns lit up we watched all the characters come to light on a huge water stage.

At that point everyone split.  Jen, Jordan, Ryan, Jake, Jillian and I got one final ride in......Aerosmith's Rock n Roll Coaster.....3-2-1....waaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh.  Picked up a few new vinylmations on the Blvd and headed out.  A bus ride back after someone 'cracked wind' and we were back to the room....quickly in bed and looking forward to another day!!
